ICYMI — 10

John headshot Oct2013Most Fridays you’ll find me posting links to interesting things I found while looking around the internet. This week’s list contains everything from the sublime to the absurd, with some hopefully thought-provoking stuff thrown in the mix as well.

Film Critic A.O. Scott puts on his curmudgeon’s cap for this piece lamenting “The Death of Adulthood in American Culture“. Perhaps we’ll end up with a new demographic. We have children, tweens, teens, emerging adults, young adults. Maybe we need “kidults” next (a term I borrow from Jag Bhalla).

Charlotte Kitley passed away this week. She blogged for the Huffington Post UK for a year, and she was blessed with the knowledge of her impending departure. She used that as an opportunity to write one last post which she knew would be read after her death. Read it and honor her memory by actually doing at least some of the stuff she suggests.

Abi over at scarymommy.com has compiled a list of all the different personalities living in her nearly 12-year-old daughter’s body. Sounds eerily familiar.

Sarah Kooiman and her husband had an argument. As a result, she stormed out and walked to Madison Square where she found Groom and Bride and Wedding Party…and Perspective.

Finally, I’ve made no secret of the fact that I’m a huge Jimmy Fallon fan. Earlier this week, he held another epic Lip Sync Battle with special guests Blake Shelton and Gwen Stefani. (Who knew Blake Shelton could tap dance?)
