ICYMI — 25

John headshot Nov 2014Greetings from high above the state of…um…I think it’s Missouri about now. I’m looking at a blanket of snow below as I fly home from spending some time with the brave men and women at Fort Riley, Kansas. Since my last ICYMI post several things have happened. The ScreamFree Institute raised over $100,000 to fund Calm & Connected Retreats for military personnel and their spouses. Also, I celebrated my 45th birthday. Time keeps on ticking, ticking, ticking…into the future.

But enough about me. You’re here for the links. Here’s some interesting stuff I found while looking around the internets this week:

Everyone on social media has been talking about “The Dress” — is it Blue & Black? Or is it White & Gold? Glennon Doyle Melton suggests there might not be a right or wrong answer. In fact, she suggests this whole thing could be a great exercise in helping people become true peacemakers.

Selena Mills realized she was doing something to her husband that was taking the life out of her marriage. So, she decided to stop, and her decision to stop one, simple thing has been a game changer.

Liz Curtis Faria loves toddlers. After reading her hilarious list of 10 reasons why, you might too. Or you might decide to never have children.

Speaking of toddlers, if you’ve ever wondered what it’s like to try to work from home with one of those critters running around, watch this video.

Sometimes kids say the darnedest things. Sometimes they say the most meaningful things you could ever imagine. Such was the case for Matthew Lajoie when his son told him: “Daddy, you’re my hero.”

Okay, that’s all I’ve got for this week. Let me know what I missed.
