Never Give Up

“Whatever you do will be insignificant, but it is very important that you do it.” (Mahatma Gandhi)

So many times we get caught up in figuring out the exact right thing to do. What’s the perfect way to respond to our spouse? What’s the right thing to do for our employees? What’s the exact right consequence that will ensure that our kids “get it” in exactly the right way? We’re so hung up on getting it “just so” that we lose the moment altogether and end up raising our hands in defeat.

There is no perfect consequence for your kids. That’s not the point of consequences. They’re simply designed to give your kids boundaries while you lead them in the right(ish?) direction.

When you’re trying to change a pattern, you’re going to bump up against resistance. In those times, think of the little man from India who did such a big thing. Keep moving forward in your quest to stay calm, cool, and connected. Stop worrying so much about trying to be perfect. That kind of thinking will only paralyze you and your efforts to become ScreamFree.
