I can’t believe it’s been three weeks since I posted one of these, loyal readers (all three of you). Time gets away from me sometimes — especially as we move into the holiday season. Nevertheless, have no fear. I have returned to share with you links to interesting things I found while looking around these lovely internets of ours.
As the father of three young ladies, I found this Time Magazine article, “The Secret Language of Girls on Instagram“, informative and helpful.
Marc Chernoff has compiled a convicting list of 12 Toxic Behaviors That Push People Away From You. Time to check my own level of toxicity!
This long(ish) article from Emily Esfahani Smith breaks down the research of John Gottman — research that allows him to predict with up to 94% accuracy whether couples will be broken up, still together but unhappy, or together and happy several years later. It should not shock you to discover it comes down to two primary traits: kindness and generosity.
The holiday season is the favorite time of year for lots of people, but I know that not everyone lives a perfect Norman Rockwell existence. For some of you this may be a very painful time. People I know are going through health scares, divorce, unemployment. Sometimes it’s just plain hard to be happy. Which is why I love this video explaining The Science of Happiness. Turns out there’s something you could do that would make you happier right now. The only question is whether or not you’ll be brave enough to try it.
Well…that’s it for this week. Let me know if there’s something out there that I missed!
