Sleep Tight (Please)

“There was never a child so lovely, but his mother was glad to get him to sleep.” (Ralph Waldo Emerson)

You gaze with wonder at the sight of his smiling eyes or the way her hair falls around her face. You sigh with weariness at the familiar cry of, “MOM! He stole my favorite pencil!” or “MOM! I think the hamster is loose again!”

So…you don’t want to be around your children 24/7. Good. There’d be something wrong if you did. Stop feeling guilty for the fact that you want some alone time. An early bedtime for the kids is your chance to recharge your batteries by doing something just for you. Taking some time at the end of the day to unwind and relax is part of taking care of yourself…and that’s always a good way to love your child.
