Tidings of Comfort and Joy
“A man cannot be comfortable without his own approval.” (Mark Twain)
Being comfortable in your own skin is one of the most endearing qualities you can possess. When you stop and think about the people in your life who you just love to be around, the people who bring you joy, chances are, they are very much at peace with themselves.
Far too often, we chase comfort by seeking the approval of others. We NEED to know that they approve of how we’re living our lives. Sometimes we seek this approval from a spouse or a co-worker or even our own children. None of that will get you anywhere good. Only when you learn to value yourself will you be able to relax and get comfortable with others. Then you may become a joy-bringer in someone else’s life.
