The Best of You
“To get the best out of a man, go to what is best in him.” (Rev. Daniel Considine)
When someone you know makes a mistake, what might happen if you assume that they want to do better? Suppose one of your kids tells a lie. Imagine what might happen if you looked them straight in the eye and said, “I believe you. I know you are an honest person who tells the truth.” Then walk away.
Instead of making the conflict between the two of you, you are allowing them to feel the struggle internally. By calling them to the highest parts of themselves, you are guiding them towards their own success while empowering them to reach it. This positions you as an ally, a resource for them as they face the ever-increasing difficulties of life.

I am going to try this a home with my son and husband to say the least. I love that I signed up for screamfree, keeps me on my toes.
