John headshot Oct2013Greetings from 30,000 feet! I’m actually posting from the “Economy Comfort” seat 12B on Delta flight 1616 from Denver to Atlanta. Technology is cool!

I haven’t forgotten about you, faithful reader. I’ve just been a little overwhelmed with some new stuff we’re working on here at the ScreamFree Institute. Stay tuned for some big projects! In the meantime, here’s a list of interesting things I found while looking around the internets this week:

This lighthearted article compares being the parent of a toddler to being a secret spy!

Meredith Hale reminds moms just how important self-care is by posting A Mom’s Bill of Rights.

My pal Tim Elmore (who shall forever remain in my memory as “Tim the Cartoon Man”) shares the story of Alex and Brett Harris, two teenage boys who learn the value of doing hard things.

Jason and Andrea Richardson share a few things they practice to maintain a sound, successful, and happy marriage.

The folks at Fischer-Price created this sweet video about parents’ wishes for their newborn babies.

And finally, speaking of videos, if you’re not one of the 5.5 million people who have viewed the “Mother ‘Hood'” video Similac created, you should go watch it now. Yes. Yes. Watch it for the “I’ll show you some ScreamFree Parenting” shout-out (literally) at 1:29. But, more importantly, watch it for the real message at the end: No matter what we believe, we’re all parents first.
