Kids: They Keep Going and Going

“Any kid will run an errand for you if you ask at bedtime.” (Red Skelton)

The Energizer Bunny has nothing on a child at bedtime. Until they’re teenagers, kids just don’t see the point of sleeping. That’s totally natural and part of how they’re wired. So, even though they will buck at it, it’s incredibly important for the sake of your battery, as well as their own, that you give your kids a decent bedtime — even in the summertime.

There must be a clear level of separation between kid time and adult time. Mom and Dad need time to be Husband and Wife. Whether it’s laughing at Jimmy Fallon or talking about personal stuff, the point is: adults are up and kids are not. It’s much easier to face all that energy the next day if both you and your child’s batteries are recharged.
